We control over 755 acres of land by means of a long term Promotional Agreement.
We promoted the site as a possible growth location through the recent East of England Regional Strategy process. This achieved a degree of success and we are continuing to promote the land via the Council’s Local Development Framework. The site currently features as a component of the Preferred Option being identified for 3,000 dwellings in a mixed use new settlement.
Whilst we also achieved some success with The Government's Eco Town process, we have decided to persue the developments potential via the LDF.
The Council currently anticipates finalising the housing number it will plan for in mid 2011. after which a further consultation will take place.
An application will be considered as further information emerges.
